Wondering Their Intentions?

So, you’ve been dating a little while and now you’re wondering what your dates’ intentions are in regards to your dating thing.   I’m calling this a thing because we don’t know what this dating situation is yet.  I always say that honesty is the best policy, and probably the best thing to do is go ahead and ask:

“Hey ???, we’ve been going out awhile now, and I’ve been having a nice time hanging out with you (and everything).  I was just wondering how you feel about ‘us’ so far and the direction we are heading?   Casually date? Like, what are your intentions and what are you looking for in a dating relationship.”

In my opinion, it’s OK to say the relationship word, and here is why:   If she/he/they have been dating you now for a little while, and no intent has been brought up yet, you should know what they are looking for (marriage and/or family, hook-up, or long term relationship) because you are giving them your precious time and a part of your life of which you can never replace.  Plus, if she/he/they squirms, stammers, or sweats, you know the answer.  Take this hint, and know they are probably a weak person for not being able to reply truthfully.  Watch for body language, too.

Always watch their actions verses their words.  Are they matching?  For instance, if they say they want to take you on a hot air balloon ride sometime, or other suggestions, and they don’t follow through….then they’re not investing their authentic energy into you and some type of a committed relationship with you.

Many times when people meet in the first few dates, they claim their dating intent, whether it’s a wife or husband and children, committed relationship, or just sex.  This way you’re not wasting your time or their time.
